Hello, there!

My name is Teresa Lo, writer, comedian, and now owner of Astronaut City. Welcome to my blog about comedy, specifically the Los Angeles comedy scene.

I was hesitant to share my opinions online about comedy because comedians, naturally contrarian, always have a conflicting opinion to whatever you say, no matter how bland, and I find that type of energy and exchange exhausting so I avoid it at all costs. When people meet me in person, I tend to be quite agreeable, not because I actually agree, but because I’m too tired to argue.

Go away. Sorry. I hope you understand. Please like me, ok???

So why start a blog now? Well, enough new comedians have asked me for advice, so it seems like there is a need for the information I’m sharing .Secondly, the comedy scene is filled with characters, many of whom are wonderful. Some are the scum of the earth. While I often self-doubt myself, I can say quite confidently that I am not one of the scum and I’d like to steer newbies away from scum, unless those newbies are scum. And for those who are scum, they more than likely flock to the scum, and they can hang out over there, away from Astronaut City, voted the best comedy club in Arcadia, beloved by everyone except for Taylor M, who is the girlfriend of an ex-employee and gave us a one star Yelp review because she said we sold Yellowtail wine at a markup. (That’s running a club for you, but… *** insert shrug emoji***)

Anyway, hope you like this blog and find good use for it. And for the haters who somehow ended up here, bless your heart and hope you never are cured of your shigellosis.

Cheers.
